Can anyone recommend a crib for a short mom?
I'm 5' and really struggled with the crib we had for my stepdaughter... I had a hard time lifting her out of her crib and getting her over the rail, even when she could stand. My hubby's not a fan of the Ikea cribs so I've been looking on Amazon.com.
Re: crib recommendations for short mom
If you want to avoid a drop-side crib, I highly recommend the crib we got: Babyletto Mercer. It comes in white with espresso sides (what we ordered) or all espresso. It's very sturdy, easy to put together, has a big drawer at the bottom, and it looks great! Because of the drawer, the crib is pretty low to the ground, so it would be good for shorter moms. It's actually low for DH and I, since we're both pretty tall!

FWIW, Baby Bargains gave Baby's Dream a good rating, with the exception of these "safety gate" cribs, which they advised against. It's possible for older babies who are standing/walking to get their feet up on the foldable gate part and climb/fall out of the crib. There was another post about these same cribs a few days ago.
I would recommend the Bonavita Metro crib. I have this and because of the way the front rail is curved outwards, it is super easy to reach in and out. We have it in white and love it!
Ours just were delivered (Ocean Collection) and I love love love them. I'm 4'10 and its prefect. Consumer Reports has this crib in the top 10 so if you just make sure the regularly lower the mattress to you childs height you should be fine.
We have the Pali Imperia Forever crib for DS #2 and I love the height of it. With DS #1 we have the Munire Urban crib and it's too high for me to lay him down when the crib is at the lowest point.
