OMG, no matter how hard I try, when I iron something it still looks like a squirrel used it for nesting and then hung it back up in my closet. I hate looking so disheveled.
Can you please buy me a maid to do these things? I am obviously not capable.
Re: Why is ironing so hard?
Yup...see, that's why I don't iron! If it doesn't look decent after a quick tumble in the dryer, it wasn't meant to be worn.
This is similar to my kitchen theory...if it can't be put in the dishwasher, I probably don't need to use it.
I totally agree with both of these!! I imagine the lack of ironing and thus professional attire is probably why I constantly get asked if I am a student. I work at a university, and no one ever thinks I work here, but I am 32.
"it still looks like a squirrel used it for nesting and then hung it back up in my closet"
LOL.

Same. My mother just bought me a dress and said, "You don't even have to iron it!" I've talked about getting a steamer, but just haven't done it yet.

Haha!! It all has to do with the steam and heat. If something is really wrinkled I always make sure the iron is full of water and turn the heat and steam to high. If that doesn't fix it then it is time to go buy iron free pants and tops
Hahaha! I love this! It's my theory as well.
The only thing I have that doesn't go in the dishwasher is the fine china that's been in our family for 6 generations...and I probably would stick them in the dishwasher if they didn't have gold along the edges.
I can't remember the last time I used an iron. Maybe for a sewing project a few years back? I usually stick a wrinkled garment in the dryer with a wet handtowel for a few mins. It makes it look "good enough".
