Dr. Sears Baby Balboa Sling...anyone???

Hello all! I was wondering if anyone had any experience using Dr. Sears' Baby Balboa sling. My bff got me one for when LO arrives

Our other options were an organic Ergo or ordering one from a LaLeche consultant/specialist. DH is a big dude and he was trying it on and was worried it wouldn't "work out" and I don't know what to expect, but fooled around with it a bit, too. (Okay, so I totally put my Boston Terrier in it!) If you have experience but are a bit on the tall side, are there strap extenders?

    It seems like a heavily padded ring sling.  Honestly, if you want a single-shoulder  carrier, I'd go with a less padded ring sling with a longer tail, so that it's more suitable for both you and DH.  Why are your choices so limited?  There are lots of great sling manufacturers right now, and you can learn a lot about the different kinds on www.thebabywearer.com  I would absolutely get the Ergo over the one you have.  I'm not sure what LLL has to offer.  If they have a Maya Wrap, I'd do that over the one you have, too.  Or, a wrap (instead of a sling) like a Moby, Sleepy Wrap, or a woven wrap.

    I have a ring sling from Snuggy Baby (Etsy or their independent site).  It's not padded but is OS so my DH could wear it too, not that he does.  I love it!

    Thank you for the recommendations, ladies. And in response to my "limited choices," those just happened to be the ones highly recommended to me by women I know, personally. But I will most certainly look more into it. You're right about the strap being heavily padded in comparison to some of the other ones I've checked out. (I don't think the strap is long enough for us.)

    I have one and it's really hard to adjust. I wanted to love it because the pattern is beautiful but I don't and now it just sits there.
