Hi everyone, I'm new to this board. I'm due end of Nov and hang out on my birth board. My husband and I are in search of a pediatrician that is open to discuss vaccine options.
My husband's father is a chemical engineer, his mom is a nurse translator and their oldest son is very atutistic so needless to say my husband is concerened with the way vaccines are handled now and days.
I know some vaccines are very important, I just don't see the need to bulk load them on the babies or if I'm interested in giving the baby ALL of the vaccines (my first son is 8 and is about to be tested for boarderline autism, my husband is his stepfather).
Does anyone have any experience with open minded Pediatricians in the Houston area? We live near the medical center.
Thank you.
Re: ISO Pediatrician that's open to vaccine discussions
I've been thrilled with Dr. Michelle Shuman.

She has been completely open to discussion and supportive of my decision to delay/skip vax. I've never felt snubbed by her or her office staff, even though we delayed all vax until 1 year. I also think she's a great all-around pedi (although I don't adore her nursing staff). I know quite a few girls here use her.
She's on I-10 and Campbell, though. Not sure if that's too far for you.

We went with an alternative schedule and I found our pedi to be very open to discussion and supportive of our decisions.
