XP: Beta numbers results and question

I've been spotting since I got my BFP, and I had blood work done on Wednesday (8/25), and my beta was 41. I had a blood draw yesterday, and my OB called me back with the results, and my beta is now 105. I've tried to google as much as I can, and my understanding is they are supposed to double every 72 hours. So are those good enough numbers? I have another blood draw set for Thursday, but I'm on pins and needles right now. The bleeding is heavier, but I don't have any cramps or lower back pain that would be associated with having a miscarriage. I think that after my blood work on Thursday, he's going to decide when I should come in for an ultrasound. Thanks for reading this far, and any advice or experience you can share is greatly appreciated. TIA.

Re: XP: Beta numbers results and question

  • from what i understand, the number varies greatly among women. someone 5 weeks could have a 40 while another had 4000. what matters most is the doubling of the numbers. slow increases may mean there's an issue.

when you get that next number, you and your doctor will have a better idea. i can't imagine how hard waiting is, but try and stay positive. gl!

  • I'm sorry, but it doesn't sound like your betas are increasing appropriately.  Are you bleeding red, or brown spotting?

This. It looks like we have the same EDD, and my betas on the 19th were 38..
