My RE wants me to try Dexamethasone with 150 mg Clomid (days 3-9) this cycle. Clomid was unsuccessfull in the past (i ovulated late) but he thinks that my 15 lb weight loss makes it worth trying again. It's my understanding that Dex helps with egg quality, and thats about all I know about it.
I'm trying to avoid Dr. Google, since that always freaks me out, but does anyone know anything about this medicine? We're gearing up for an IUI and have been for months- I just don't seem to be having a strong enough ovulation and every cycle has been canceled. Has it helped anyone have a stronger ovulation?
Re: Anyone heard of Dexamethasone?

Well, this was on explination I found:
I. DEXAMETHASONE (Decadron)
Patients who are found to have an immunologic problem (presence of certain antibodies) that could be potentially affecting their fertility will be given a course of this steroid medication. Steroids work by suppressing the body?s response to detected antibodies
My dr puts me on it and has not tested for antibodies - so I'm actually not sure if it's a combination of the antibodies and the inflamation.
Thank you IVF for our little miracles!!
This.
