DD is afraid when the pee comes out?

DD wants to sit on the potty on her own and will sit there up to an hour, but once she feels she has to pee she gets very scared and stands up. We gently try to encourage her to sit down to pee, but she seems to get very afraid when she feels the pee coming out of her. We clap and cheer and try to make a big deal when the pee goes in the potty...but after about 3 weeks - she still is scared and will only sit on the potty when she DOESN'T have to go.  Has anyone experienced this? Any tips, please?

    Sorry no advice DS was like this so I put him back in diapers. I wanted the PT to be a good experience so we will try to go back to it in a couple of months.

    We are having the same problem so I've moved onto the regular toilet with the ring and so far shes happier (Day #2 PT). Not sure why but she says she scared of the little potty.
