Hi,
My most recent miscarriage happened on 7/31 and I started my first AF last week on 8/25. Today would be cycle day 7 and I have been feeling a pain in my right side all day so I took an OPK. The OPK was +. It seems way too early but I know cycles can be irregular after m/c. I was thinking I may still have HCG in my system that is turning the OPK +. Is that possible even though I've just had a period? I'll take a pregnancy test tomorrow to test this theory but I was curious if anyone else had a similar experience with very early ovulation like this?
Thanks!
Re: Pos OPK on CD7?
OPK's measure LH and HPT's measure HCG. Sometimes an OPK can turn positive if your LH is still elevated with elevated HCG but not always.
Is your DR following your HCG down to 0?
Also, are you reading the OPK correctly? The line has to be as dark or darker than the control line. Sometimes people don't know that and read it like an HPT where a line is a line making it positive.
It is possible to get a positive this early and not O until several days later if you get several positives. Also, your body could be gearing up to O, but never actually O until later. Only following your temp will confirm if you do or not.
EDIT: Saw you said you were thinking of using a HPT tomorrow...
My guess would be that you've still got hcg in your system. I'd call the dr & ask them to do a beta draw.
