Cloth diaper mommas-please come in

We are thinking about and researching the transition over to cloth from disposables. How many cloths do you have to use per day? Do you wash every day? What brand do you recommend? Any info you have would be greatly appreciated!

    Are you BFing or FFing? If you are BFing it is good to note that you don't have to swish anything, which is something I MISS!

    Anyway, when DS was 4 weeks old, we started CDing. I got 26 prefolds and 9 covers with disposable liners. I ran the wash every other day, unless he pooped a ton. I used Bummis until he grew out of the size smalls and now we use gDiapers. Like these, much easier to use and wash.

    We have 24 prefolds (greenmountaindiapers.com), 4 thirsties covers (sized ones, not duos), probably a dozen fitteds and four all-in-ones. We do laundry every other day but would have plenty to go longer if needed. I use pfs and fitteds during the day and the aios at night. We love them!

    We use about 10 diapers a day per baby. ?I bought 2 dozen for each baby, and have to do laundry about every 2-3 days. ?We use prefolds (Green Mountain) with Snappis and Thirsties covers (these are the BEST!) and I made my own fleece inserts. ?At night we use some Bum Genius 3.0s. ?I love the Green Mountain prefolds, and to be honest, prefolds with covers are the cheapest way to go. ?I love them, we never have blowouts, and it's a fabulous money-saver!

    Right now, we're using a mix of prefolds, fitteds, gdiapers and smartnappies with a couple of pockets thrown in. She's almost completely outgrown that stash and we're in the process of converting to pockets. I'm honestly not sure how many we use a day.... maybe 8-10? Depends on what happens (I've changed a diaper three times in 15 minutes before.)

    I wash every other day. It's easy. 

    She's exclusively breastfed, so I can just toss it all in the washer and it comes right out. 

    We haven't decided on a brand for the pockets yet, but they should be one-sizes. I have a Rumparooz already, and we've got BumGenius ad Happy Heinys coming, hoping for a FuzziBunz soon too.  I really like my sized Thirsties pocket as well. I'd recommend trying a trial from some place like Jillian's Drawers to get an idea of what style you like, then maybe buying a sampling of various brands before you invest in a whole stash.

    We've CD'd from day 1. In the beginning we were going through diapers like crazy with all the newborn poo, but now we seem to be leveling out! ;)

    We change her every 3hrs during the day and every 6-7 at night (we dreamfeed her middle of the night feeding!) so maybe around 8 diapers a day.

    DD just outgrew her newborn stash so we are now in the OS (one size) diapers. Our system is: Prefolds and Thirsties Duo Covers while at home (12 yellow edge GMD prefolds and 4 covers), Pocket CDs while we are out (we own 12 total.....my favorites are Fuzzibunz and Rumparooz), Fitteds with wool covers at night (we own 2 goodmamas and 3 Bububebes (LOVE!!!!) with 2 wool covers).

    I do laundry every 2-3 days.....so about 2 extra loads a week! Not bad! :)  I EBF so I just change DD and drop the diaper into my wet-bag. When it is time for washing I empty the bag into the wash and throw it in. I wash with one cold rinse, hot wash, cold rinse and then line dry my pockets, covers, and fitted!

    I am loving our CDs!!
