AW:First Birthday Party (Lots of PsIP)

Sunday was DS's birthday party. It was a lot of fun. I think just about everyone we invited came! So we were around 40-45 people including kids I think, which was awesome. We did a Winnie the Pooh theme.

This is the mantle, I used his Winnie the Pooh stuffed animals for decoration. My original plan was to make a banner of the month by month pictures but at the last minute I couldn't find my hole punch so I just taped them along the mantle. That was my only attempt at DIY decorations lol.

We moved the couch out of the family room into our front room (living room I guess) so that we could have more tables set up inside.

In the front room we set up the present table with balloons.

I also hung the banner in the front room

With the totally amazing cake that my girlfriend made. At one point my aunt thought it was a cookie jar and tried to take the lid off. Surprise Thankfully the only part that came off was the little fondant ball at the top and was easily replaced.

Someone asked when I posted her practice cake asking what the honey was made of, she said she used cooked down corn syrup with a little food coloring. I made the cupcakes and the smash cake, and you can tell why I didn't make the big cake Wink .

DH manned the grill so that we had some yummy burgers and chicken breasts

After lunch it was time for smash cake! We stripped DS down to his diaper, I'm so glad we did too. His bib is big enough you can't really tell that he's not wearing a shirt and after cake DH took him strait upstairs for a quick bath. After the bath we were able to put his birthday shirt back on.

BIL & SIL got him this awesome slide. My favorite part is that they built it before the party and delivered it ready to go!

Looks awesome! That cake came out so nice. Thanks for sharing, you have given me a few good ideas for my boys party. Looks like he loved the cake, how adorable!
