Favorite laundry stain remover?

What are you girls using to pre-treat stains now that LO's are eating finger foods.  Even with a bib, T sometimes gets stains on his clothes.

I've been using Shout spray, but it's just not cutting it.

Any suggestions?

Re: Favorite laundry stain remover?

  • Oxyclean (I use the dollar store brands). I either mix it with a little bit of hot water to make a paste and put it on the stain(just don't let it dry on there) or put a scoop in a bowl of hot water and let it soak for a couple of hours. This has worked great for me.

ditto - I don't even pre-treat and haven't had a problem with stains coming out.

  • I use Dreft Stain Remover. My SIL told me about it and it's AMAZING...everything comes right out! It helps that I carry a travel size in her diaper bag! Helps to not set the stain!

  • I use dreft stain remover as well and it works great!  I don't use dreft laundry detergent because I don't like the smell of any of the dreft products.  But the stain remover works so well, and after going through the wash with my "free and clear" detergent, that dreft smell is gone along with the stain!

Works great, came in really handy when my daughter was having blow-outs in the newborn stage.

  • Tide stain release! It takes EVERYTHING out.
  • zout. It was suggested back in third tri and I have used it on ALL stains and all DS clothes still look new
  • stain stick SUCKS!!! i've also been looking for a new stain treatment, i'll have to try the oxyclean. a lady from my church swears by "nature's miracle" she said it's a carpet cleaning spray at Petsmart, she said it takes out everything from blood to grass stains. i don't know how i feel about using such a harsh chemical on kids clothes though.

This, I love Oxyclean!  It has even gotten blueberries out of the carpet.

  • If the stain is really bad, I spray shout and also use oxyclean in the machine. Otherwise, just oxyclean. I don't think shout is as good as it used to be. I might stop using it. But oxyclean rocks.
