Anyone do this? I've found it for a good price on ebay, but its still an investment so I'm wondering if its worth it. I've had enough with 30ds, and p90x workouts are too long

i know people who have done both - i am probably not going to do insanity. from what i have heard, it is all cardio - like plyo times fifty :-) the workouts are definitely shorter and more intense. i am only not going to do it because i hate plyo and i feel like i wouldn't stick with it.
i have heard it is a lot of HIIT - so three minutes hard, one minute easier, etc. a$$ kicking good stuff.
I started doing insanity right before I got pregnant after completing chalene exteme. It was definately tough and a lot of cardio. I remember being shocked at one point that what I had done was just the warm up . You should go to the beach body website and read up on it through the message boards. they always give good info. If you like plyometrics and cardio it is definately worth it.

I have done P90x, Insanity, and 30ds and honestly I got the best results from mixing up the plyo and arms and shoulders video from P90x and 30DS and running. Insanity is hardcore cardio but for me I had no noticeable toning effects from it. Maybe b/c I tried it after using P90x and 30DS and it just couldnt hang with the mix of the 2.
Chalene Extreme is another beach body workout created by Chalene Johnson. You may know her from the turbo jam work outs. The theory of the work out is muscle burns fat. It is a 90 day program where the workout changes every 4 weeks. There is 3 phases Burn, Push and Lean. In the the first phase your goal is to push your muscles to fail between 10-12 reps with combination of upper and lower body exercises. So basically you are lifting heavy to cause the muscles to fatigue. In the next phase you push to fail between 6-8 reps with focus on technique and one muscle group. Finally in the last phase you combine upper, lower body and core for 10-12 reps. There is also two cardio/plyomentric workouts thrown in and ads and a stretching segmant. The workouts are 30-45 minutes long and on the days you add abs it is probably about an hour.
I really like this workout because I felt I got a good workout in under an hour. Again you should check out the beachbody site. It has so much useful info especially if you are already doing some of the beach body workouts. Hope this helps and good luck with your search,
I have Insanity and started it, but then stopped. Will do it after the birth, but do need to use the p90x work out videos when I don't go to the gym. After sorta working out, it's hard to get back in, pregnant or not! I want to,, have a half marathon in oct,,
Keep working out ladies,, it'll help with the weight gain, which I need to focus on,, or not gaining too much fat!
Ive done both and Insanity is way harder. Super intense cardio workout with little weight training. However I would definetly recomment it if you are up to it. I was losing about a lb every other day until I got pregnant. Its ridiculous.

Check out turbo fire by Chaleen Johnson. I finished p90x and was going to start turbofire before I got pregnant. I can't wait to do it.
Insanity looks awesome but turbofire looks fun. They are both pretty intense.
