Our Highchair fell apart with Asher in it!

We registered for this highchair, because we loved the look of it and it was simular in shape to the wooden one DH had as a baby.  The other day I put Asher in it and went to recline it, when we reclined it the whole top part detached from the base and luckily we were able to scoop Asher up real fast before he tumbled out to the floor! 

Anyway, I went to exchange it today at babiesrus.  They are selling it for $149.99, but because some customers got a coupon in the mail (I didn't even though I'm a rewards customer)  They only gave me $129.99 for it!  Jerks....I feel like they screwed me a little. 

Anyway, I ended up getting a new one that I absolutely love, but I had to pay like $50 extra for it when I thought I'd only have to pay $30. 

Anyway, if you're thinking of getting this highchair from Carter's DON'T.  They told us we were the second family to complain to that store about this and that they expected it to be recalled at some point.

    I'm so glad I posted this then!  Its a beautiful highchair, but not worth it!

    That's awful! I'm so glad you were able to catch Asher. I'll make sure to stay away from that high chair when the time comes.

    Oh no! I'm so glad he's okay...that's good to know about that high chair. We were planning on buying one for Lucy soon since the one we had for Libby was broke in our move. I'll definitely pass that one up!

    Oh no. We have this exact high chair sitting in our closet still in the box :(

    I am glad that Asher is okay. 

     I ordered the Anka High Chair (Honey with Oatmeal cushion) from BRU, and they sent me in the mail a high chair that looked like it had been returned (the box was retaped up), the top part of the wooden high chair was broken, and there was no receipt attached.  Luckily, I had used a gift certificate to purchase the high chair and I showed the manager my email for delivery of my order, and they gave me credit on a BRU gift card. 

    I actually ordered the Graco Blossom (Sachi pattern) from www.gap.com.  I used a gift card and used a gap promo code to get 20% off.  This high chair looks more tan than ivory like in the picture.  But I really liked how it turned out when my husband put it together.  And it was easy for him to put it together as well.

    Wow.  That is really scary!  I have the Graco Blossom and so far so good.  DD is still a bit too young for food yet but I put her in it yesterday and she seemed to like it.  Good luck!! :)
