Trouble TTC

Charting and injections

I am going to be going for blood work tomorrow and will ask my RE then but I am taking Gonal F injections then Ovidrel with timed intercourse. The information the RE gave me about Gonal F said to continue to take BBT's. I was just wondering what the point is if I will be getting ultrasounds and triggering and they are pretty much telling us when to have sex.

Re: Charting and injections

  • I only did it so I knew the exact day I ovulated (trigger gets you within 2 days).  It isn't necessary.

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

  • That's a good question - I don't really have an answer, but would love to hear what the RE says...

Maybe for peace of mind?  The ultrasounds and b/w should keep you from missing ovulation, even IF you end up ovulating before you trigger... Interesting!

  • I stopped doing it because the trigger shot made my temp jump on it on and it was freaking me out because it looked like I ovulated way before I when I was doing my IUI but my doctor said with all the meds, especially the trigger shot, your temps are not as accurate.  So now I just track days and other symptoms, etc. but not temps.

Ditto this. I always had a temp spike after taking Ovidrel, and it wasn't ovulation. I took a break from temping this injects cycle mainly b/c I wanted a break. I figured with all the monitoring, I was covered.
