"you so deserve it"

I will never understand why people use this.

There is a girl from high school who just got pregnant with #2 and almost every single person on her facebook announcement told her that she "so deserved this".

What exactly does that mean?

What are the qualifications?

 

Fuuck TTC - I'm moving on.

    I'm not sure. I've had friends who know about our IF issues tell me that they hope I get pregnant this cycle because I "deserve it". I smile and thank them because I know that they mean well, but I am left wondering what that even means.

    Whatever.  I totally deserve it!  Just ask all the poeple who've realized how much I've been slacking at work for the last year and a half.

    Sometimes I think we should all get to pick a number - I will wait if that means someone who has been trying longer gets their turn.  I just want to know it'll be my turn sometime, too.

    "You deserve it" is right up there with "maybe it's not in God's plan".  Um, right.  I'm sure God planned on giving the thousands of unemployed, homeless crack whores kids before us!

    I have major problems with the concept of deserving anything.  Really, thank God we don't all get what we truly deserve!  Someone showed me a Bump post secret about me that used that word and while I was flattered, it was awkward. :( And now I feel ungrateful.  But yeah.  Okay, end rambling.

    Now that is hysterical.  I have to remember that for when people tell me that about my miscarriage.  Me responding with that would completely be a Candid Camera moment.

    I'm glad I could make your day!  I realized (of course after I clicked "post") that it may be too tacky even for the snarky side.  My inherent sarcasm doesn't always make it through as sarcasm in the written word...

    I agree with many of the other posters - this whole entitlement BS is for the birds!

    I think it's pretty safe to say that I am also a receptive audience. 

    ETA: Except baby hunting.  I am not okay with any type of organized infertile baby hunting expeditions.

    He's the single greatest thing I've done in my life and reminds me daily of how fun (and funny) life can be.  He's turned out pretty swell for having such a heartless and evil mother.
