Alright, flame away, but I want this baby out! I'm just shy of 39 weeks, and given my other boys' births and maturity at birth, I'm confident that this baby is well prepared for the outside world. I have my reasons for wanting him out in August, most of which I'm sure people would love to argue with me about, but the fact of the matter is that I want him out, and tomorrow night is the deadline in my mind!
I'm not talking medical induction or anything, my midwife would never go for that even if I wanted it. I'm just looking for suggestions on getting him out. I swear I've tried everything, but hoping there are things I missed.
Tried so far: sex (of course), walking, labor cookies, I'm on 2000 mg/day EPO orally, 1000mg/day vaginally, and spicy food.
Am I missing anything? Keep meaning to pick up some fresh pineapple...will probably go get some tonight, before taking a LONG family walk.
Re: "Natural" induction
- scalinis eggplant parmesan (google the recipe and note: if you want to eat it with spaghetti, you will need to double the sauce recipe)
- roll on a birth ball in big, wide circles (if you do it right, it puts pressure on your cervix, which might hurt a bit and might cause you to spot)
- acupuncture or acupressure
Good luck! i thought this would be an august baby too, but i cannot have it tomorow - it is my brother"s birthday, so this will be a september baby afterall!
I am so with you! I had an induction massage today (she used a lot of acupressure), am seeing the MW Wed to get my membranes stripped (that is if I have finally dilated), and will look into acupuncture if none of this works. Oh and I bought pineapple and black licorice.
Good Luck to us!
accupressure, nipple stimulation (pumping??)
I am SO with you! I want this baby out in the next week or so. Flame away, but it will possibly make a difference in whether my DH will get to come home and meet her before he deploys, and that would seriously make my LIFE if he could! I definitely understand wanting some natural induction.
I had a good experience with castor oil. 2 oz blended with a cup of vanilla ice cream and a cup of OJ.
But, all of the natural labor "inducers" won't work unless your baby and cervix are already really really ready. So you may just end up with the shitts and no baby yet. :-/
The hair grows in thick where the horn used to be.
Here is the website for the Eggplant Parm. It has the recipe and the story behind it all. Let me know if it works...I may have to cook up some in the next week!

Even if it doesn't induce labor, this recipe sounds delicious! I would love to try it now.
ok i know this post is old...
but all of that natural induction seems to have worked for you
