Question about tastes...

Am I the only one that has never given LO even the smallest "taste" of anything??

Not saying it is right or wrong, I am just wondering.  I guess I never thought about letting her taste anything until we start her purees at 6 months.

Re: Question about tastes...

  • I give a "taste" of icing for her birthdays...I gave her a "taste of potatoes. I would honestly be surprised if it made it past her lips. I just put a tiny bit on my pinky...

  • No, not yet. I'm thinking I will wait until I introduce her to solids.

  • I haven't. I'm hoping to delay solids as long as possible.

  • I think his first taste of anything was rice cereal at 5 months.

  • Nope, I haven't given LO a taste of anything either.  I've thought about it a couple of times, but then I tell myself she can wait (i think about doing it just so I could see her reaction to the taste).  I'd rather wait until she starts her fruits and vegetables at 6 months.

  • LO is EBF, but I have been giving her tastes of banana and avocado.  And when I say "taste" I mean I rub my finger on the banana or avocado and then put it in her mouth.  There isn't a whole lot on my finger.
