TTC After a Loss

Sad news... some perspective

I have a friend whose godson was born a couple of weeks ago. I saw her sister pregnant at my friend's wedding at the end of July and she was glowing. She was just about to pop but was just so happy. She gave birth while my friend was on her honeymoon. When she returned she found out that the baby was born with a rare form of leukemia and down syndrome. Baby Brenden held on for a couple of weeks but passed away this saturday. I CANNOT begin to imagine the pain this woman is feeling. I know what happened to me was a hugely difficult ordeal but it is NOTHING compared to what they had to go through. It gave me a completely new perspective and makes me remember that just when you think that things are bad, there is always someone else suffering more than you. Either way I just needed to share this so that you guys can keep her family in your T&P. What a way to start a day......

  • How horrible.  It makes me think of that quote that talks about being kind to others bc you don't know the battle they are going through.  T&P their way.

(I won't attempt a direct quote b/c I don't want to mess it up and don't have time to Google...or even Bump for that matter, oops.)

  • You are so right. We have no idea sometimes how much worse it could be. Lots of T&Ps being sent their way.

  • So sad....I'm sorry for their loss.  T&P's to their family.

You are absolutely correct on perspective though.  I look at my best friend whose baby passed away one-week after birth (after she carried her full-term with no outlook on what happened).  She made it though and so will I.  I cannot imagine losing a baby after carrying full term.  My heart goes out to those mommies.
