Welcome to Operation Baby Bump. I noticed there is a lot of newbies and just to catch you up to speed we talk about health and fitness for our April baby bumpers.
I use to post OBB every day but I am thinking about cutting it down once a week since its hard to come up with a topic everyday. That I am tired and lazy ![]()
Please post below your workout progress, eating habits, and anything else like weight etc.
Re: Operation Baby Bump
Well, I was completely horrified when I weighed myself this morning. I really need to lay off the fried foods! That and the fact that I just laid around all weekend and am still having bathroom issues made for a not pleasant experience with the scale.
I will be back in the gym today and am getting my eating back on track. I brought lots of fruits and veggies as healthy snacks today to get me started.
As for working out, I have been slacking lately.
growing a foosa
No weight gain yet, although that depends on the day! (it flucutates! LOL)
As for working out, I'm a runner. I tried to do three miles on Saturday but I'm already starting to slow down. I was only able to do about 2.5 and I had to walk some. Then I felt like crap the rest of the day. SO needless to say, I'll be ellipticalling it or I also just enrolled in Jazzercise which is mad fun
Cravings...none specifically, except I did find myself buying nectarines and green granny smiths yesterday which I don't usually have to have. Another thing I noticed is that I HAVE to eat breakfast now. I get such bad hunger with this bump
Oh and I've had about six baked potatoes so far and prior to the pregnancy it's been a good year since I had one. Coincidence? I think not. LOL.
No weight gain for me yet, which I think is partly due to my food aversion to potato chips!! The thought of them makes me want to gag... even right now.
I've been doing pretty good with eating healthier, I've been making an effort to eat more fruits and veggies and it's going well. Although I was bad over the weekend, but that's normal.
I'm not a "workout" person- it is totally foreign to me as you girls talk about taking "runs" and how many miles you did.... you won't see me running unless an ax murderer is chasing me.
I feel a little alone with this attitude, it seems like a lot of you are workout fiends. I walk quite a bit at least two days a week, and that's about all I have the energy for. I know I should probably do more... I'll work on that.
I haven't weighed myself since my last doc appt earlier this month. My next appt is tomorrow so we'll see if I've gained that much. I think maybe a pound or two just by the look & feel of my clothes.
Does anyone else feel yucky after working out sometimes? I was told it helps with m/s and all that jazz ... and apparently when I do it (or something a little more intense) I feel *worse*. Anything besides walking seems to bother me...and walking can be on the boring side to me. (sorry whiney moment) I'm hoping this will be different in the 2nd trimester! I miss my cardio workouts!

I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels like a slacker right now! I usually work out at least 45 minutes, 5x week. I like to alternate between pilates and weight lifting. The last 2 weeks I have done zilch. Between the m/s and fatigue, it just really sounds like the last think I want to do.
I'm hoping all of this will pass and I will get back on track ASAP!
I had every intention to continue working out, but I've been so incredibly sick. I lost 9 lbs and gained back 3 since going on zofran.
I teach dance and that starts up in 2 weeks; I hope I have the energy and the stomach by then.
No weight gain over here just yet. Going to the gym 2-3 times a week for a cardio dance class. I think that might be keeping some of the bloat and fatigue in check. Just feel super tired all the time now!
Food is a tough one right now. Tried to go to dinner with the hubs last night for our anniversary and had to bolt out of the place within minutes of sitting down b/c the smell of seafood and italian food made me gag relentlessly! Living on applesauce, toast, and string cheese.
Had to do my blood work this morning and the whole fasting for 10 hours was SOOO not fun with m/s!
I haven't gained any weight yet. Although the bloat has me feeling like I've gained about 5 pounds based on the way my clothes are fitting.
I usually get to the gym about 4 times a week and do 30-35 minutes of cardio when I go. Fortunately, the gym is only a 2 minute drive from my office so I can go over there during my lunch hour. If I had to motivate myself to go before or after work it wouldn't be happening.

I have not gained any weight yet. I do walk almost everyday with my dog, which is my motivator. I used to run twice a day, but with this M/S I just feel terrible after running, so walking it will be!
As far as foods, the meer sight of a tomato has me running for the bathroom! I have been pretty good with the fruits and vegetables so far. Lots of cheese, which I am sure is not helping with the constipation factor. I am going to try to walk twice a day and hopefully keep the weight down the whole first tri. First appointment is on Thrusday so we will see!
My weight has been super up and down. I started at 112, quickly went up to 114, hovered around 115, and yesterday went back to 112. I think I've gained around 2 pounds for sure.
I'm trying to eat healthy but all I crave are carbs. Rice, pasta, and bread are the only things that sound good to me. Water is starting to make me sick.
I'm still trying to work out around 5 days a week, and hopefully I can keep it up.
It's been hard, because when I'm cycling for IF, we aren't supposed to work out, so where once I was a gym rat, now I love my couch. I was cleared after my 3rd beta to start exercising again, but cut it back a 1/3.
Just really watching what I eat, and last week I walked for 30-45 mins 3 days.
Can't wait to be able to kick it up a notch! This should happen after our u/s on Thursday.

Our Totsicle is getting so big!
I'm a marathon runner, so I was used to working out 90 minutes a day or more. Now I can barely make an hour. I have found a way to extend my workouts a little by doing intervals of run 9 minutes, walk 1 minute. Of course, I have slowed down a lot, but at least I am able to run. The consistency definitely isn't there anymore. I always had a training schedule and followed it, now I barely find the motivation to get out the door.
Food has been a challenge. I've gained 4 pounds so far. I am so nauseous all the time that I have turned to comfort food to control it. I did switch frozen yogurt for ice cream and am trying to eat more fruits and vegetables, but it has been hard. I'm really looking forward to this nausea going away.
Uhh, not so good! I only made it running/walking twice last week! Today, I couldn't even make it 3/4 of a mile without stopping to fast walk. I literally feel like my a$$ alone weighs 50 lbs or so. It feels like I am trying to run with a bag of lead strapped to my upper thighs/lower back. Plus, my stomach actually felt like it was jiggling when I ran. What the heck is that about? That is completely new! I don't like it at all. I also got winded faster, so I stopped and just walked the rest of the way, it scares me to push through it. SO, I am going to try to make it out again tonight and maybe just walk with my ankle and hand weights. We shall see. It's just sooo hot here!
Food: This weekend was a trainwreck! I ate french fries and a cheeseburger and FF and chicken strips (twice) over the weekend. Wow! It was just soo good. THe thought of lean cuisine, salad, or even pizza made me throw up in my mouth. Yuck! So, today I HAD to get it back on track. So far, peanut butter toast with skim milk (choked that down this AM) and a Subway salad. So far, so good. Dinner WILL be a lean cuisine rice meal, no matter if it makes me gag or not. Or Special K. I have an important wedding this weekend and I MUST not look like a swollen, bloated cow. Especially since no one knows I am PG yet.
Hi! I'm pretending to be an April mama. Official EDD is May 2, but it's very unlikely I will make it to May (and I won't be allowed to go past my EDD anyway).
Anyway, I was really good about doing prenatal yoga each night last week, but then the weekend came and I slacked off, but I'm going to do it again tonight. I'm really making an effort to balance carbs and protein in each meal to see if I can prevent getting GD this time around, but it's so hard early on. M/S has kicked in much worse starting today so we'll see how it goes. My first appointment is next week, I hope to get a more solid plan in place once I meet with my mw. I haven't really gained or lost any weight besides just bloat yet.
according to the home scale i have not gained weight but its impossible with the amount of food i eat and the bloat. I am already wearing maternity jeans.
I been a slacker in the work out area because my new hours at work are "killing me" not really but after 3pm i have no energy to walk on the tread mill.
