If you have had any kind of party with kids of all difft ages...

did you provide anything for them to do?  I hate to make a "birthday party" post and I apologize!  There will be kids from 4-13 at dd's party and a friend suggested just going to dollar store or whatever and getting a bunch of cheap toys (ie, balls, water guns, bubbles etc.) for them to play with, good idea??  I'm totally not into the pin the tail games and stuff like that and I really don't think kids are even interested.  I just don't want them to be bored, any ideas?

    I have this situation.  What I plan to do is have a few games in the yard like a bean bag toss and things.  Also we will do a few organized activities where we will group kids together by age.  I bought a few sacks from the local farm maket for a $1 and we will have a sack race.  There is also anothe game called buket burgade where you have them pass water down a line and see who wins.  The older kids help the younger kids and it is fun.  I also coudn't decide what to do about a "gift bag" you traditionaly give kids since they will be all different ages.  I decided to give cookies (really great giagantic cookies from a local bakery) in a clear bag with a tag thanking them for coming.  I figure 4year olds and 13 year olds  all love cookies.

    We're having kids ranging in age from 6 months to 11 years old. I'm setting up a corner in the backyard with bubbles, bubble guns, a foam play mat, a bunch of balls and some coloring books. We also have a pinata and a "pin the candle on the cupcake" game. They'll find something to do, kids are very creative :-).

    We had kids from 4 weeks to 12 years old at DS's party this past weekend. We really didn't have anything set up for them, but most of them were in the 4-8 age range so they just played together. We didn't have a lot of "down time" we ate, then did cake then presents. They all pretty much wanted to help with the presents. lol The only one I felt bad for was the 12 year old. She was a little too old to play with the little kids but wasn't quite old enough to hang out with the adults yet.
