Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Ugh another MIL post

Dear MIL:   We left DS with you all afternoon yesterday when we went to a ball game and you're going to baby sit again this Wednesday night so we can go out for our anni.  While I completely appreciate you loving and wanting to stay with our DS, please stop calling me to come over to watch him today.  And stop calling DH to then call me because I didn't answer my phone.  There's a reason for that- you're bugging me.

ps- While I also appreciate you helping me with laundry while you baby sit- please stop putting my "hang dry only" shirts in the dryer.  That's 2 now that are too small for me to fit anymore.  Thanks anyway.

Re: Ugh another MIL post

  • MIL drives me nuts wanting to watch DD.  She doesn't want to watch DS because he is spoiled rotten and all he does is cry....he is the worst baby she has ever met...don't get me started.  So DS goes to day care and she watches DD at our house.

Everyday I come home and the house is destroyed.  HER dirty dishes all over the place, not even in the kitchen sink.  I told DH that he needs to get her in check because she should be doing things that make my life easier or at least picking up after herself and DD while she is watching her.

    UGHHHH...At least she is trying.

  • That would drive me insane. I would never let my MIL do my laundry. That would bother me.
  • Ugh. I feel ya. My ILs are always saying how they "never" see LO. We see them at least once a week.

  • I hate when someone so much as touches my laundry! Especially undergarments!

  • I can't stand my MIL doing laundry either! She always tells me I have too much in the washer or dryer. She doesn't understand that they are high capacity washers and dryers! Not like hers from the 80's! And she constantly sets the buzzer. I always turn it off because it is super loud and long and used to scare DS if he was awake or wake him if he was asleep. She sets it and goes RUNNING when it goes off saying "gotta get the pants out before they wrinkle!" Again, doesn't get that my dryer has a wrinkle shield function. And she does not put enough detergent in either. vent over. :-)

Wait a minute. She seriously will only watch one kid? She doesn't want to watch your little baby because he is spoiled?! That is favoritism and you should nip it in the butt now before your LOs get old enough to understand. I can't believe you send one kid to daycare and let the other one stay with Grandma.

Yes, this is terrible.  It needs to stop before the baby is old enough to realize what is going on.  The kids gonna grow up with a complex.
