DH and I have went through books and websites and made lists of all names we like, but the more we talk and think about them, the shorter the list gets and we end up almost not really loving ANY names. We're lost at this point.
Anyway, I've just wondering where everyone "found" the right name for them. Naming after family? A name you've loved your whole life? Favorite characters from a book/movie? Just browsing name books/webesites?

Re: Where did you find your favorite name?
I was obsessed with "Sleeping Beauty" as a child and fell in love with the name Aurora.. and still love it. And when I was in high school, one of my old boyfriends had a brother named "Wesley" who everyone called "Wes" and I just loved it..That's where our 2 choices came from....I got lucky that my DH is perfectly fine going along with them... he got to choose the middle names.

I vacationed in Adare, Ireland and fell in love with the name (though we used the Adair spelling for various reasons)
My favorite names are all names of literary or historical figures I admire, OR family names. My husband's favorite names are names he's loved his whole life, followed by names of literary and historical characters he admires.
I don't think I could just pick a name out of a baby book. I work with names as part of my job, and it's really important to me that they mean something.
