Babies: 3 - 6 Months

help meeee, please :(

i am pretty sure the 4month wakeful is upon us. Crying normally kylie sleeps 8-12 hrs a night. the last 2 nights she has been up after 4 wanting to play. i want to cry.

is there anything we can do to try to keep her from doing this? nothing about her routine has changed. it has always worked for us. at 7 she gets a bath, we have downtime and she eats then she is out by 8 or 830.

i just want more sleep, lol. anything work for you?

thanks ladies.

  • Try swaddling her- ds wakes up at 2 or 3 and won't go back down easily, so we swaddle him and that seems to do the trick!Ps- your dh is a hunk :)

  • We went through something similar last week.  DD used to sleep from 10 PM until 6 - 8 AM, then suddenly without warning, she started getting up once, sometimes two or three times a night, and then would be up for a feeding between 4 - 6 AM.  Her naps were also shot to hell, too.  We already swaddled, so that wasn't the problem.  We also kept her bedtime routine consistent.  We thought maybe she wasn't getting enough calories, so we increased two of her bottles by 0.5 oz.  I don't know what did it, but after a week of terrible sleep, she suddenly began sleeping normally again.  I thought it might've been the 4-month wakeful, but now I'm thinking it was probably a growth spurt, because last weekend, she couldn't touch her toes to the floor while in her Jumperoo and this past weekend, she easily could.

Just keep the routine consistent, try swaddling if you don't already do so, and maybe reevaluate how many ounces she's eating per day.  Could be a growth spurt, too.  Is she teething yet?

we already did swaddle but we broke her of it like a month ago because she seemed uncomfortable. im gonna try it again but i think its because she is still in her RNP. maybe she will do better in a crib?

Yeah, we stopped swaddling at around 6w becuase he was such a squirmer, but I've had luck with swaddling when he wakes up in the early mornings.  I also sneak downstairs and put him in his swing around 6 when he wakes up again and just finish sleeping on the couch.  Recently he's been staying down until 11ish, which is awesome, but why can't he sleep that long at night?!
