Just got back late last night from the cottage. I had friends come down from Ottawa for the weekend. It was beautiful and H-O-T all weekend.
We had a great time. Tried wakeboarding behind our Sea Doo - ugh. Looks like so far the only thing I'll be doing behind our Sea Doo is skiing. Now my arms (forearms especially) are killing me.
Got a little tipsy on Saturday night for the first time in MONTHS. Didn't enjoy it so much the next day!
Crappy part - had to listen to my mom and my friend lecture me on what I should and should not do when it comes to TTC. 
This is my friend who just went through her 3rd m/c a week before me. "Stop charting" (for the record - they never have charted) and I even got the classic: "As soon as you stop trying, it will just happen!" from both of them, and my friend added: "The last time I got pregnant was the first month I didn't count any days, I just said fvck it - and it worked!". 
I just shot back with the fact that I don't have a difficult time getting pregnant, it's staying pregnant that is my problem. Tried to explain to my friend that counting days to predict O is based on assumptions, where as charting is based on basic science. Forget it, I gave up and just let what they were saying go...
Clearly this is the only place where I can discuss TTC efforts without being told that basic charting is unnecessary.

BFP - December 31, 2009
18 week ultrasound showed BOY, but several complications. No heartbeat at 19w4d. Stillborn on April 21, 2010
Started seeing an RE December, 2010: 6 failed IUIs, 1 failed IVF
September, 2011: FET, transferred one 3-day embryo = BFP on our anniversary! 6w5d baby measured behind with a low heartbeat (84bpm). 7w5d no heartbeat, no baby in sac. D&C November, 2011.
November, 2011 - March 2012: BREAK. Started gluten-free in February, 2012.
March, 2012: FET, transferred one blast = BFP! Beta #1 = 240, Beta #2 = 550
Why are people so against charting?? I don't understand. I love it now and will continue charting to help concieve #2 also! If i ever get that far.
But i agree... nobody else but us understands. I let a lot go in one ear and out the other all the time.

I charted TTA for a number of years and was given the "you know what you call people who do natural family planning?" joke by several people (some of who are doctor friends). As if there isn't science behind charting at all. Ridiculous.
I think it goes back to how we've been programmed to believe that our bodies are capable of very little without medical intervention. Once we "know" something about them, people think it's like black magic or something, because we can't possibly know anything about our bodies/cycles without someone with an MD telling us.

grrr, I had to deal w/that too this weekend. Saturday night my friend/coworker decided to give me TTC advice. Serious FH family. 2 kids, 2 yrs. Well John tells me to just "have sex every night" and just go to sleep after. And I'll get pregnant. NO problem. Riiiiiight. Then he tells me I'm pressuring DH...FFS STFU!
