Wow. To be the mother of this child and all the emotions you went through in just one day, it would be so overwhelming. That will be one heck of a story for the little boy when he grows up though!
Makes you wonder- the article says in Aus that 'kangaroo therapy' is actually proving to be lifesaving for premature babies. I wonder how many babies could be saved if this were to be adopted over here, or if this was a one-off miracle?

kangaroo care is used here, especially with preemies. It's probably not used nearly as much as it should be because of regulations and protocol, but it is used.
I was JUST reading an article on this in the fall issue of Today's Parent Pregnancy! Apparently it's proven to be more effective at stabilizing preemies than an incubator?! Amazing! It's also showing that babies who are placed skin to skin with mom right after birth, instead of being whisked away for an hour, are more successful at breastfeeding. Very cool! Something to keep in mind!
