DD is so congested, any suggestions?

My poor little DD is so congested! She had an ear infection but finished her last dose of antibiotic last Monday and now she is miserable! I've been suctioning her nose and using the humidifier and we tried the Johnson's Vapor bath stuff but still congested. It's gotten to the point where she throws up every morning.

I read somewhere that you can put Vick's babyrub on their feet at night? Has anyone tried this? Or saline drops?

  • I use saline spray. It would probably help loosen things up if they need loosened so you can suction more out. GL hope your baby girl feels better soon!

  • walgreens had a version of baby rub that was safe for 3m+ and it helped DD a lot a night.

  • DD2 is still congested from a cold two+ weeks ago -- my pedi said they can stay congested for awhile.

We've been running a humidifier in her room; inclined her crib mattress with a towel underneath one side; baby chest rub (only on her feet, b/c it made her chest break out); and saline drops.

The saline drops really help. Sometimes I suction her nose, but mostly just use the drops. My pedi said not to suction every time, b/c it will make the nasal tissues swell.
