Re: Pacimal vs Wubbanub

  • We have a paci plushie and my daughter loves it. She's still too little to put it back in her mouth but she likes holding onto the stuffed animal. We got that one because the pacifier part comes off so you can wash each piece separately. I was also able to replace the pacifier that came with it for one that she was already used to. The Wubbanub are all one piece and has to have a soothie.

  • I was thinking of getting one as well but my concern is can the animal part somehow cover their face during the night?

  • We own one of each. I recently posted a review on the July 2010 board if you want to check it out, it's on the first page of posts. And as far as it covering their face at night...DD had the pacimal covering her eyes and forehead when I checked on her lastnight, it happened after she dropped it. I always take it out of her crib once she's fallen asleep. Review (sorry can't make it a clicky on my phone): https://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/41842768.aspx

  • We have the Pacimal and Betsy loves it.  It's great that the animal detaches, both because it makes it easy to clean and because the child can keep the animal after the paci has been removed to make weaning easier.  I've always put Betsy down drowsy or already asleep, so she does not sleep with it (I can see how there may be a concern of it covering her face if she did).  Plus I think Pacimals are cuter (we have the bunny).  The only advantage of Wubbanubs that I can see is that the bean filling might make it stay put more easily.
  • I have the wubanub and wish i had gotten the pacimal.  The wubanub is tiny compared to the pacimal and it doesn't stay in her mouth at all.  Plus, I dont like that the soothie cannot be removed for cleaning.
  • Thanks for asking this question, I've been thinking about getting a pacimal for my LO.
