Car Seat inspection in Manhattan?

Hi NY Mommies,

Where does a Manhattanite go to get the car seat installation inspected? I'm in Gramercy.

    I often work with DOT (NYC's department of transportation) and they told me they do the inspections for the city.  I had my car seat installed by them and it was great. 

    They do it the 2nd Saturday of every month. It was a little hard to find at first because the entrance is actually not on 2nd avenue- it's on the side street- 127th st between the avenues.  It was at a Chevrolet car dealership uptown.  The official address is 2485 Second Avenue at 127th Street (like I said though- the entrance is on 127th).  They're open between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm.  It's free and it's done by certified people.   Check DOT's website- google nyc dot - if you want a phone number to call.  I think they might have another location on Greenwich St but I don't know if that is still current or not.

    3 IUI's and 2 IVF's later- Brady arrived. Born at 36 weeks after PUPPS and pre-e/HELLP.
    IUI- BFN IVF #1 -BFP! Allie is our 2nd IVF baby. Born at 36 1/2 weeks after pre-e again

    Thank you so much for the info. I called the downtown location and when I told them the baby should arrive before the second Sat. of the month, they made a special appt. for me.

     

    From what I read, it seems like in the 'burbs, most fire or police stations offer this service. I guess not so much in Manhattan... But I think I've got it taken care of now.
