DD's special skill is: counting in 3 different languages. She attends a local International School and it's only been a month but she's already learned so much!
DD needs to work on following MY instructions/directions and whining right now. Both are a huge PITA!
My best parenting attribute is how in tune I am to DD's feelings/emotions. Whatever she's feeling, happiness, sadness, frustration, anger, etc., I let her feel it to the fullest. I do my best to help her calm down and focus but I never try to "snap her out of it" because I want her to learn to be aware of her emotions and to trust them at an early age. I think doing that will benefit her long-term.
The parenting skill I need to work on is my ability to be "too patient". I tend to give DD chance after chance after chance to follow instructions or do what I tell her to and my threats of discipline aren't taken seriously. DD takes advantage of that and truth be told, I let her. When I do FINALLY put her in timeout, she screams and cries hysterically and it's because she's used to me giving her chance after chance to "get it right"...which of course, she never does.
Our favorite family activity is going to the movies. Even though DD won't sit still through the entire show, she likes the experience and it gives DH and I a chance to do something we haven't done in forever.
I'm looking forward to DD's 3rd birthday (we're planning a FAB party), our spring family trip to Disney World AND the next chance DH and I can get away for a weekend without DD. I'm also looking forward to hearing DD's progression at school. Totally hyped about that!

DC's special skill: Coloring... she's doing a LOT better these days with staying within the lines. She can now get off of our super high bed without assistance. And a few days ago, she also learned how to get ON it, too.
Something DC needs to work on: Wiping after going #2. Going potty at night without our assistance. Eating more.
Your best parenting attribute: Explaining things to my kids and not just saying "b/c I said so" or "I don't know". Letting them know I love them, both by actions and words. So important!
Parenting skill you need to work on: Patience. Losing my temper isn't an issue for me, but instead, I have an issue with trying to multitask TOO much. I'm a nurse, so that's like how I make a living... multitasking! Example: While DD is eating breakfast, instead of me sitting with her, I'm unloading the dishwasher and starting new loads of laundry, all while changing DS and preparing his food. Wish I could just let it all go and enjoy my kids more. I HATE this about me. I feel like my kids' childhood will blow by me. I am working on this.
Favorite family activity: Just being outdoors exploring with my kids. Away from home, somewhere... see previous answer... that's why I love to be away from home. Away from my chores and other responsiblities. I think I make better memories with my kids away from home b/c my mind is clearer.

More in the distance... starting a tradition of an annual lake trip to my Dad's cabin with all 5 of my siblings and their spouses/kids. It will create awesome memories for my kids... I was never close to my cousins, and I would have loved to have been:)
