DD's been a little cranky since Friday, had a major melt-down last night and was up super early this morning. She literally cried - all - day. She cried if I wasn't holding her, she cried if I was holding her, she cried in her sleep, she cried during her bath (which she usually loves). In fact, she cried so hard after her bath that she ended up getting sick. My poor girl barely ate anything solid, but did drink her milk, some water and ate a lot of ice chips.

I feel like it's her teeth bugging her, but I didn't see anything coming in - and Lord knows I had ample opportunity to look in her mouth while she screamed today. I gave her tylenol, but it didn't seem to help much. She's not showing any signs of anything major like an ear infection, but she will be heading straight to the pedi if she wakes up feeling this way again tomorrow.

My heart just breaks for her because all she wants is for us to hold her and comfort her, but she can't even find comfort when we do. Sad I just hope that she sleeps and has a restful night. Sorry for the longish, rambling post...

Are you sure it's not an ear infection? Has she had a cold lately? When DD had one she didn't show any signs except being extremely upset - she cried all the time, especially at night. I would definitely take her in tomorrow. I'm sorry she had such a rough day!

When my DD acted like that I took her to the pedi and she had a UTI. Hopefully, it's just teething and will pass soon. My DD is teething now too (17 m) so I feel you on that-- it is hard.

That was DS last weekend. He was just miserable so we took him in and it was an ear infection. Hopefully tomorrow will be better for you.

Poor little girl! Hopefully she feels better soon.

We've had those nights lately - luckily it hasn't lasted all day. He's normally pretty happy, but he's been waking up in the middle of the night and crying for an hour or more too - Friday night and then again this evening. I think I might take him to pedi too just to check on ears, he's always pulling on them when he's teething so I just can't tell what the problem is!

I'm so, so sorry. Days like that suck. DS has been like that lately - not quite as bad, but just wants to be snuggled and comforted but even that doesn't make him happy. It's rough when you feel like you can't do anything to make them feel better.

Hang in there, hopefully she's better tomorrow.

Could be a virus, my LO was very cranky for 3 days, woke up couple times a night crying hard and ran a fever. I took him to the pedi and she couldn't find anything, no ear infection, nothing wrong with the lungs, no sore throat. She said there's a bug going around and maybe it was a virus, especially since he had a fever. It went away as quickly as it came and LO is all good now.
