So, I'm being thrown a shower in Chicago and a shower here in Iowa. Obviously, in the Chicago area, access to stores is easy. Here in Iowa, we have a Target, but no Babies R Us. The closest BRU is in Omaha, about an hour and 15 minutes away. If I were still living in the Chicago area, I'd register at both stores. But, being here, I'm not sure if that's a good idea or not.
Brett and I have no problem going to BRU in Omaha. However, we don't know that family would...and most of them are NOT online shoppers.
Do we still register at both stores? I'd imagine that most of my registry would be at BRU, if it's a good idea. What would you do in my situation?
Re: Registering Questions
I would register at both stores...the people in Chicago will definitely be able to get to BRU if they want to, and if your family/friends in Iowa are anything like mine, they'll take a day trip to go shopping in a completely different city every once in a while if they feel like.
I would just say try to put more on the Target registry if possible. I realize that might be hard, as Target doesn't always have the biggest assortment of baby things, and the last few registries I've printed there, few of the items were actually in the store...So yeah, definitely register at BRU!

We kind of had the same issue. BRU and Target where we live in Indy but not where the shower was being held (only Target and Toys R Us). People will use the Target registry and it transfers really well between stores. I registered at a SuperTarget and the regular Target in the city where the shower was held had everything or almost everything that I registered for. Also where I grew up, they have neither BRU or Target so my only option was Walmart which I chose not to do because of lack of in store selection in my opinion.
With Target you get your completion discount coupon sent around the time of your "expected due date". BRU sends it ~4-6 weeks before your expected due date. So I ended up changing the date on the Target registry to that of our shower date to get the coupon quicker. (my shower was at 32 weeks) The BRU coupon came in about 5 weeks before my due date but we got most of the basics at Target and are using the BRU one (that's good until Dec) for stuff later on at this point. Hope that helps!
