DH insists my BBT is a sham

Last night I took my temp to see if it was high (not for charting, just b/c I've never broke the 98 threshold and I'm ususally 96/low 97 and wanted to see if I was higher at night).  Well, it was 96.24.  DH said, "Take mine."  He was 94.42!  He jumped around the room trying to get his temp up and was laughing saying, "Am I going to die?"  He tried again and it was 95.14.  Needless to say, he thinks it's a sham and told me to get the old fashioned mercury one.  Yeah that would be fun to read with sleepy eyes, lol.

    Oh man!! I never broke the 98 mark either, even post O... but i have gone into the 98 mark at night though. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to pick up a new one for your next cycle.

    Yeah, I'm thinking of it.  Though I just bought it for this cycle, I did have it in a very hot car when I was bringing it overnight.  Who knows? 

    I've temped a few times at night/mid-day and always am 96 or 97.  I couldn't believe DH got a 94 though...didn't think it was posssible.

    BFP #1: 12/2009 m/c 1/2010 BFP #2: 6/2010 m/c 8/2010

    BFP #3: 10/2011 ectopic 11/2011 (right tube removed, learned left tube was probably nonfunctional due to scar tissue from infection after m/c)

    3 failed IUIs, IVF #1: 18R, 12M, 10F, 3 poor quality 5d embryos transferred= BFP #4!!!!!

    Betas: 9dp5dt: 64 ~14dp5dt: 91 (expecting miscarriage, doubling time of 236 hours) ~16dp5dt: 200~18dp5dt: 500

    First Ultrasound at 6w2d revealed two sacs, only one with a heartbeat

    LK arrived after 42 weeks on August 14, 2013! Beautiful, healthy, and happy!

    TTC#2: IVF booked for April 2015

    Surprise BFP#5 February 19, 2015 EDD: November 2, 2015

    Betas: 10dpo: 10, 14dpo: 77, 17dpo: 270

    First Ultrasound at 5w1d showed a miracle UTE baby! And right ovary ovulation to left fallopian tube.

    JD arrived at 38 weeks on October 20, 2015.

    TTC #3: Since October 2017. BFP #6 July 2, 2018 EDD: March 16, 2019 [/spoiler]

    No, but I was laughing hysterically bc of his reaction and was trying to say, "Is the inside of your mouth cold?"  He had a gulp of water a few minutes prior, but it was room temp.

    I could be wrong, but I think if you use the same BBT for the whole cycle it won't matter if it's reading low b/c you're just looking the temperatures in relation to each other not to anything in particular?

    That was my initial thought.  I was trying to explain that to DH...

    The actual temp means almost nothing.  You are looking for a pattern.  Mine reads about a degree lower than my fever therm, but it is consistently that way.

    You could try it with just a regular one to see how that works...???  I know mine only shows to the .X same as any other.  I never thought to check mine.  I have been over 98 only a few times, and was thinking mine was low.  DAMN!
