  I understand why you're so worried b/c I tend to freak out about little things as well (or so I've ben told!).... Unfortunately, we can't control all the outside factors that surround us. While second hand smoke is definately bad for the baby (and you) a few moments of being around it should do no harm.... I work at a dental office and since I haven't told anyone at work that I'm prego yet, I'm still around xrays daily. I wear a lead shield around my belly all day and my OBGYN says that there's nothing to worry about. so a bit of SH Smoke shouldn't do damage. Hope this eases you're worries!

  Thanks.  I would hold my breath and/or move away, but every now and then, some would make its way over.  At least, we were outside?

  Being outside really did help too.  Try not to stress about it too much today that isnot good for baby either.

  You can't live your life in a bubble. I work in Manhattan, where I'm constantly surrounded by crowds -- sometimes including smokers -- but can you do? A few seconds of second-hand smoke isn't anywhere near the impact as living with a smoker or working in a place where smoking is permitted (like some bars and clubs.)
