After going back to work this week (teaching) I have had the worst swelling in my ankles. They are still swollen! Is anyone else experiencing this? What shoes are you wearing (if you are on your feet all day)?
I had some pretty bad swelling about a month ago when I did some traveling cross crountry. I've been fine since then. I am also a teacher and start back on Monday with the kids, so I definitely anticipate seeing swelling again. Honestly, they probably aren't best for my feet but they are the most comfortable, so I'll probably wear flip flops a lot of the time. In another month, I'll probably just wear flat clogs.
YUP! it's been so hot here and even though I sit mostly at my job my feet still swell up!! Currently I'm still wearing flip flops but on bad days I'm wearing a pair of slip ons that I accidentally bought a half size too big last year. So when the swelling hits they are perfect!!
First thing I do when I get home is elevate my feet and put a cold pack on them(it feel great) and it usually helps...
I've come to terms that I'll have "cankles" until December though haha
I'm also a teacher, and my saving grace has been compression hose. I was having HORRIBLY swollen feet the first week and my OB recommended the hose. I swore I would never wore them (at first), but I tried them and when I get home my feet are not swollen- so worth it!
And I drink a butt load of water during the day (around 80-100 ounces). This has also been helping, I think.

Yep, this was my first week back at school and when I got home it looked like a I smuggling grapefruits in my ankles. I wore gym shoes and that seemed to lessen the swelling. I also have wore flip flops. I saw the doctor this week and expressed my concern about the swelling and he suggested the compression hose, too. After reading your post, I guess they are worth trying, although, I don't think they will look so great with capris, so I will probably have to start wearing pants.
Compression hoes and nursing shoes!!! I am a nurse so it works at my job but you can always hide them with pants and they make some pretty nice shoes that are super wide and you can run around all day!

I just started back this week too and the swelling is horrible. My feet cannot fit into shoes currently. It sucks because our dress policy just got tightened up...supposedly no jeans (but principal said occasionally on Fridays) and no flip flops. I have enough mat. clothes for only one week. Last week I tried to throw in some prepregnancy tops but they won't last for long.
