I had the pleasure to be invited yesterday to a bachlorette party where the bride to be was 10 weeks KU (can anyone spell S.H.O.T G.U.N W.E.D.D.I.N.G?? they know each other 6 mths, wedding was put together in 2 weeks...)

I arrive, ready to party only to discover that there are 4 KU'd ladies in the party (out of 10 of us), and all we'll be talking about during this Bachlorette party is how everyone's pregnancy will be going.

I think this was a 1st time for me, finding it tough to handle something like that - I mean we are only on Cycle 2, but still pretty tough..

(FYI, I feel like a total B*tch for feeling like this - but I couldn't help it)

I picked "all of the above". TTC can bring out some weird feelings! I had two very close friends of mine get KU on their first try (literally, both on THE FIRST TRY) right around the time that we first started trying.

Of course I was beyond happy for them, they both wanted babies just as bad as I did, they both are going to be wonderful mothers, and I was so excited to have two new "niece/nephews" to love on!

But at the same time, it sparked some insane jealousy and lots of "OMG WHY THEM AND NOT ME IT'S SO NOT FAIR" thoughts that I'm really not proud of. I was temping and charting and my body just really wasn't working right, and it definitely clouded some of my happiness for them.

Eventually, you get to a point where you can seperate your TTC frustrations from your friends' successes. Keep your head up!

I'm going to vote none of the above: specifically, bored. Although I would be happy for them, sitting around talking about pregnancy would make my ears literally bleed.

Why is it so often the case when you put a few pregnant women or women with kids together, they think its okay to totally monopolize the conversation and talk about NOTHING but babies?

If three people were to sit and discuss any other common interest and speak of nothing else while the others who can't relate just sat there, everyone would think that this was incredibly rude. But for some reason when the topic is pregnancy & babies, it's totally fine. Annoying.

I was thinking this too!!!

I was the MOH in my friend's wedding and I was 6w pregnant. The bachelorette party was so boring for me since I couldn't drink At least you'll have a great time!

I attended a shotgun wedding a few months ago.

The bride stopped taking BCP and continued to have unprotected sex with the groom (without telling him she was off the pill). Afterward, when questioned about the fact that she intentionally got pregnant, she said it was an 'accident' because she thought women didn't ovulate for a few months after being on the pill and her now husband should have 'just known' she was off the pill because 'he saw her take it every day'.

I had to grit my teeth through that one (along with quite a few others who attended).

Fact: Life isn't fair. Many loving, mature, well-intentioned couples will not be able to get pregnant, while other not so well-intentioned, irresponsible couples will get pregnant on their first try (*cough* I mean by accident...). Sigh.
