post preg diet tips? (when the weight doesn't "fall off")

hi everyone,

so my first 15 pounds "fell off" (as they say) in the first week. the second 15 pounds are not budging! i'm at the end of week 5 post pregnancy. i don't breast feed, but i jog 1-2 miles 4 times/week, and i try to watch my calorie intake, but i'm not sure i'm doing a good job with the diet/food end of things. does anyone have any tips?

thanks!

  • Probably not what you want to hear - or maybe you already know this, but my "first 15 pounds" was actually water weight from swelling - though I wouldn't have thought I was *that* swollen. It kind of set me up for a disappointment when I had to work extra hard to take off any more weight. No tips except to cut yourself some slack - you just had a baby and your hormones are still out of whack. GL!

  • I agree with the PP.  It is 5 weeks PP.  I gained 54 lbs this time.  I lost 30 w/i 2 weeks.  I lost everything in 3 weeks with #2, so I wanted it to fall off again....  3.5 months later, I still have 14 lbs of baby weight to lose.  I have been tracking calories as well as working out daily.  I was running 3 miles a day but have switched it up to include the 30 day shred as well as running, walking and the eliptical (well until it broke the other day).

It will happen, watch your diet and shoot for maximum water intake.

  • I did Weight Watchers online after both of my pregnancies.
