Baby Shower

I would like some advise please. Me and my sister are trying to plan my baby shower but i don't know where to start. I don't know who to invite or what games to play. I've only decided on the date, time, food, and drinks. Any advise on things that I would need or places to look at stuff? I'm open to anything

Re: Baby Shower

  • I invited my family, closest friends, and family friends (my mom's bestie, etc). I would try google for games. Just type in baby shower games and there are SO many good ideas. A classic is the clothespin game. Everyone gets a clothespin. If you say the words "baby" or "shower" whoever catches you gets your clothespin. The person with the most clothespins at the end of the shower wins. Another one is to buy several different kinds of candy bar (about 10). Melt them/smoosh them and pour a different one into 10 different numbered diapers so it looks like poo....pass them around. People write down what they think each one is and whoever gets the most right wins. Good luck!!!

  • Usually you invite family and close friends. As for games I honestly recommend trying to steer clear of them. I have been to enough baby showers and the games get old very fast. Maybe try doing the decorate a onsie thing. Buy a bunch of blank onsies and some fabric paint, iron on designs and let your guests have at it. I hosted a shower and did this and everyone that came thanked me for doing this instead of having games

  • I think games are cool as long as they are funny and not too annoying. That could mean optional participation, such as having people put in guesses for when you're going to deliver.

I had a going away party last weekend (we're moving) that included some optional baby-related activities and everyone LOVED this one game that I invented. The guests read product names and descriptions and had to guess which ones were real and which ones were fake. We made up a few, and the others we found off of google searches for things like "ridiculous baby products." The only danger you run into for a real shower, though (which our party was NOT) is that someone might actually buy you one of those ridiculous products, so it would look bad if you were to mock it. But yeah, one good thing about this game was that if you didn't want to play you could just ignore it. There was an answer sheet that guests could peruse on their own after submitting paper guesses.

  • We are doing the decoarate the onesie thing at my shower. I'm also doing a diaper raffle. I looked at a ton of games online and honestly, I thought most of them were really lame. And like mentioned above, if you've been to a lot of showers, they get old really quicly.

I invited family, friends, and some people from work. It's really just a matter of who you want there.

  • As long as you have some nice food and fun decor (and IMO, cocktails for the non-pregnant ladies), you will have a nice shower.  I am not a fan of games.  Thankfully the hostesses planning my shower agree!  They're going to put out some baby pics of myself and DH as well as a childrens book for guests to sign the inside cover of...  but that's about it!

Oh I love the idea of the children's book!
