DH said he still would recommend the Evo over the Intercept, but that the Intercept is still a pretty good phone, especially if you want a tactile keyboard.
I have Sprint also and I have the Palm Pre and love it. It takes awesome pics, the screen is awesome and the internet access is really good for a phone. But I am a huge Palm fan. My last few phones have been from Palm and before they made phones, I had Palm Pilots. But I love to organize absolutely everything I possibly can, so I think that's why I'm partial to Palm. It has an awesome calendar!
I have the Incredible and DH has the Droid X. We are both totally obsessed with our phones! DH used to be a 100% loyal iPhone devotee until the X came out, and now he's totally converted.
I was a Blackberry convert, but I think the Droid was super easy to learn to use. I love the number of free apps available for the Droids. I also love that Droid is an open concept so anyone can create and share apps (unlike iPhone where Apple has to approve them first). I also have loved Verizon's cell phone service and customer service this far, and we are saving $35/month for the exact same plan we had with AT&T.
The only con so far is that there was a bug with the HTC Facebook/Email/Peep (Droid version of Twitter) that was sucking my battery life and active phone memory. After some googling and me disabling them though, I haven't had any problems. I would also say the only true con is the battery life of the Incredible. If I use it heavily (GPS on, playing games or using the internet constantly, etc.) I have to plug it in after about 4-5 hours of use. But DH's Droid has great battery life and he can use his all day without plugging in.
Basically, I could rave about my phone all day. :-) If you have any other questions I'd be happy to answer them!

Oh that reminds me, the biggest con of the Pre is battery life. I always charge it on my lunch break in my car while I'm bumping, and then I am fine. But if I talk to someone for an hour or so (I have a sister that loves to talk about everything and nothing at the same time), my battery will be close to dead. But it's fine otherwise.
Re: NTTCAL: Andriod Phones
Aubs, my DH would love this!! He is obsessed with Android! He has the Nexus One but they don't sell it anymore. What service provider do you have?
DH said he'd recommend the Evo, Droid X, or Droid Incredible.
