Can anyone rec a good diaper rash cream?

Had DS in disposables for the first 5 days of his life.  We've switched him over to CDs (unbleached prefolds) but I think we were a bit late as diaper rash had already set in.

Any recs on a good diaper rash cream that will work well with CDs?  Preferably something that we can buy in a store (as opposed to online) b/c we should probably treat it sooner rather than later.

Poor little guy with his little red bottom.  :(

TIA

  • I like CA baby.

    I like CA baby.

    Me too...it's available at Target.

  • Desitin. Smells nasty but does the trick.

Honestly, it seems like everyone I know has tried a million different kinds and all like something different. So try something, but if you don't like it, try something else.

  • This content has been removed.
  • Be careful with desitin: its not CD safe.

I like California Baby the best.

I've also used natural essence and it worked just fine.

  • We like Burts Bees.  It cleans up a red tooshie in one application for us....you'll find though that most websites say it's not safe for cloth diapers but we've never had a problem.  You can buy it at Target but Walmart may carry it now too as I"ve seen some BB products there (but usually in the cosmetic area)
  • DD has eczema and we tried a butt load of creams. CA Baby is the only thing that didn't make it worse for her. It is good with cloth. AND, they sell it at Target. Also, using a fleece liner is a great way to keep your little one's bum dryer. I just bought cheap fleece and cut it to fit on top of the prefold. It worked like a charm!
  • Second the rec. for Angel Baby Bottom Balm. If you have any CD stores in your area they might sell it, otherwise you'll have to get it online. We had problems with CA baby not washing out of our dipes - they say it should, but it didn't for us and I ended up having to strip them. It also didn't really work on DDs rash that well. ABBB is expensive but it works every time and I've never had a problem with it not washing out.
  • I've tried a bunch and I LOVE Grandma El's!  You can get it at target.com, but I don't think it's available in store.  If you order it from Abby's Lane, I usually get her deliveries in two days.

  • And beyond the need for cream you'll probably need to track down the cause of the rash. Most likely you just need to change him more often and that'll solve it for you.
  • Here's a website for you: https://www.pinstripesandpolkadots.com/diaperrashcreams.htm

I haven't used any of these, but I LOVE California Baby products!

    Good luck!
