Hey all,
I am looking for advice on cosleepers - one of our friends gave us one, a wooden one, that stands next to the bed. Really nice of them. Only problem - the side rail is broken so it has to remain open on one side (i.e., you can't attach that rail). Is this safe?!? There are no instructions or anything, and my thoughts would be a baby could roll off in the night - scary!
Since I am pretty sure I know the answer already, any advice on good cosleepers to buy? ![]()
Re: advice on cosleepers?
early on when the baby can't roll usually the side is down anyway and the cosleeper is sort of attached to the bed- that way you can jsut reach over to pat them or easily bring them to you to nurse.
That being said- we had the arm's reach mini cosleeper. It is really nice- I used it for about 2 weeks. Then for us- we wanted him in his room. I got no sleep at all having him right next to me, and he was more likely to wake having us next to him. That is a very personal and situational decision. I thought for sure I would keep him in our room- but I never nursed in bed- I stayed home and DH had work, so I always ended up feeling guilty and bringing him ti the nursery glider anyway. There was little point in it. Just a different perspective- but the arms reach is nice. We got the angelica which I thought looked a little nicer b/c it was more bassinet-ish and less boxy
