Okay, this is sort of hard to describe but bear with me.
It started yesterday in the late morning when I used the restroom at work and continued all day.
I sit down to use the toilet to pee. I pee. I'm almost done when I start feeling my lower abdomen, especially on the right and down into my groin/upper thigh, start to get tingly and then it's on fire and then it starts spasming or cramping up. It feels sort of like a really bad foot cramp that keeps getting worse right around my lower ab/where my leg connects to my midsection.
At the same time, my whole lower abdomen starts to cramp and pull and my stomach drops sort of like when you go over a hill unexpectedly in the car, and it feels almost like my innards are going to come out or like I need to push something out.
However, as soon as I stood up, the cramps & spasms stopped and I felt totally fine. I've had no spotting or bleeding.
On a side note, I am 6.5 weeks and have been having lots of pulling cramps in my lower abdomen this week.
Last night before bed was the worst spasm episode. I wasn't paying attention and just relaxed on the toilet as I peed so I didn't catch the cramps before they started. They started up and got so bad I started yelping and almost crying and was terrified because it kept getting worse even when I stood. I seriously felt like something was going to fall out of me or that I needed to push something out (note: I haven't had a bowel movement in 24 hours or so despite the fact that I am usually very regular. I wonder if that could be part of the problem?). I was finally able to get the spasms and cramping to stop as I stood there by massaging my right lower abdomen and groin.
DH had run in during my intense pain and looked so worried. I know the first thought in both of our minds was, oh no, not again...we're going to lose this one, too.
My first appointment is on Wednesday so unless this gets worse and I can't go to the bathroom at all I'm planning to wait until then to bring it up with my midwife. There's probably nothing they can do either way until then.
Anyway, this morning I peed half-standing over the toilet and had no problems. I also have no probablems sitting normally on a chair or on the couch. It's just sitting on the toilet that initiates these pains. I've been too fearful to try to go #2 because I can't sit on the toilet long at all before this happens.
DH and I tried googling the symptoms independently and we both came up with Braxton Hicks contractions, round ligament pains, ectopic pregnancy, and a few other random things. I don't think it's an ectopic pg. Not sure about the other things.
Has anyone else experienced this??

That sounds a lot like a urinary tract infection. When I get them really bad I have cramps but only when I went to the bathroom. They got worse at the end of peeing. A urine test is all they need to figure out if that is what it is, but you should go to the doctor sooner rather then later since they like to treat UTI's early when you are pregnant.
I hope that helps!
I just wanted to provide a follow up to my earlier post. I was able to speak with the head doctor in the practice I go to and explained everything to him. He said it very much sounded like my muscles/ligaments are stretching and cramping based on my posture on the toilet, especially since massaging the area helped it recover. He doesn't believe it's a UTI or an impending m/c so he thinks I am fine to wait for my appt. on Wednesday.
I have had a few minor spasms today but massing the area helps a lot and I have been able to use the toilet with different posture so I think I am good to go until Wednesday.
Even if it didn't turn out to be a UTI, I appreciate your responses and encouragement to call. It really set my mind at ease.
