Wash 6 times then dry or wash and dry 6 times?

Do I wash the pfs 6 times then dry? or wash and dry 6 times?

  • I've heard that they'll "quilt up" faster with drying inbetween. I've also heard that some brands don't take as many cycles to be absorbant.

    I'm getting GMD prefolds.I'm going to boil them once and then wash and dry once or twice.

  • Yep.  The drying quilts them up nicely.

  • Since you'll be diapering a newborn I'd wash 3 times, dry, wash 3 times.  Once you're using them as diapers you will be changing SO often that they will get washed plenty.  And quickly.
