Had a great morning. fun playdate with a bunch of old friends. good lunch.
then I went about making the meatloaf for dinner before I headed to work. I was chopping the onion and ooops, sliced the tip of my thumb nearly clean off!
Brian was home (THANK GOD) and I guess I passed out. I woke up on the couch with my feet elevated and feeling really crudy. the boys were napping (another THANK GOD) and Brian was able to get my little sister over to watch them while he took me to the clinic.
We went to the clinic instead of the hospital cause we figured they would be cheaper since we donthave insurance. Got there and thankfully the bleeding had stoppd. got all checked in and waited, and waited. All the while my thumb is killing me.
finally got called in and after they looked at it they decided not to do stitches as it was at just the tip and part of it was starting to seal back. they cleaned it up good and but some gunk on it and sealed it with steri strips. It should heal back together on its own and my nail will just eventually fall the rest of the way off as it grows. It hurts like the dickens and I got some vicodin to take the edge off.
as we were leaving and dreading the bill, the receptionist told us that when she looked up my chart it still shows us as having insurance!

I thought that it ended as of August 1st. I must have been wrong. She had even called and verified that we had it so YAY we didnt have to pay!
So here I sit, with a massivly bandaged thumb, chewing my vicodin and wincing everytime I move my hand.
lets hope for a fast healing
Re: today started with so much promise
OUCH!! You poor thing! I hope your feeling better! Have a glass of wine with the vicodin : )
Ooh, OUCH!!
But, friendly tip, do NOT have a glass of wine with that vicodiin. That's one sure fire way to make yourself sicker than a dog. And I'm guessing you don't need to add vomiting on top of all your other woes.
