How lucky are we to have such an amazing place in our city? I had to take F in for some tests because of her limp and everyone there was fabulous. They really made her feel at ease in a scary situation.
I take it all back. Test results came back and we were referred to Orthopedics and the next available appointment is January 19, 2011. Are you fvucking kidding me. I'm supposed to wait months of my baby's life to get the chance to see a doctor who can fix what is wrong with her. The effent phone rep said "Do Wednesdays not work for you?"
Um, no..,..2011 doesn't work for me. HATE.
Anyone have a good pediatric Orthopedist to rec? Thanks.
Thanks so much for the recs, I called back again and pleaded my case, we have an appointment in a month. Not great, but way better than 2011. I also have a call into my pedi about referring to the doc you guys rec'd. Thanks so much!
Re: Texas Children's Hospital - ETA: Recs needed
We spent a week there for C's pre-op and heart surgery and I cannot say enough good things about them. Truly the best experience I could imagine given the circumstances.
We had my daughter's extra toe removed by one of the Orthopedic surgeons. When we first met with him, he was at TCH. He now practices at Texas Orthopedics Hospital but has rights at TCH. Perhaps try and get an appointment with him at the other place and if there is a more extreme intervention needed, you can have the procedure done at TCH.
His name is Dr. Idris Gharbaoui and he's with Fondren Orthopedic Group. 713-799-2300. Loved all his staff. Very easy to work with.
Good luck!
I've never specifically seen that doctor, but I've seen 2 at Fondren Orthopedic Group and really liked them both... (neither are pedi doctors though)
It's nice to have such a wonderful place right here in our town but it's not so helpful when they can't get you in for 6 months. That is not acceptable!!! I hope you're able to find a dr soon. Poor F.
I have a great functional chiropractic dr (homeopathic and not the "crack your back" kind) that my whole family sees (in addition to Tyler) if you're not happy with any of the "final" results. Just throwing another option out there that not too many people consider...... He doesn't take insurance but it has always been well worth my money.
