I have heard time and time again that the Moby takes a little practice. The first few times I tried it I felt very uncomfortable. I know its safe but I felt ackward and like my LO was going to fall thru the bottom. But I was persistant and now I can wrangle him into a hug hold with the best of them.
For anyone out there who is struggling with their Moby, I say "hang in there, you WILL get it, it just takes a little practice and it does get better, before you know it you will be a pro."
I think the cooler weather (Ohio) is helping too, it was so hot this summer I couldn't imagine putting him in there, even naked!
I really want to try the Ergo and I have one on order but its taking FOREVER to get here. I can't wait until it arrives!
Re: ATTN: reluctant Moby users
Wraps are amazing.
Youtube is your friend.
Good luck!
I don't have a moby but a woven, and I agree once you get the hang of them they're like gold.
I don't use my often, but when i want to use it, it's magic.

I used a Moby when DD was 0-9 months old-- then I put it away. My DD is 17 months old now. Today, I took the Moby out of her closet (where it had been packed away-- we are moving soon) and she squealed with delight the moment she saw it. I hadn't even put it on my body yet and she was saying Upppp Uppppp with her arms reaching toward me. I said, "would you like to go for a ride with me?" and she said, "YES. PLeeeeaassse". I wrapped her up and went for a 45 minute walk-- she napped against my chest like she did as a baby. She loved it-- we felt such a perfect bond. Now I will def.. keep using it and learning the various holds. I've never tried the hip hold, or back hold. Those look like fun!
I'll be using it with my next baby, for sure
I guess I'll keep trying.
I think my problem is that DD2 is so big. She's 6 weeks old, about 12 1/2 lbs, and around 23". I tried the cradle hold, but since I'm only 5'4", it just didn't feel like there was enough room. I'm hoping that it will be more practical in the fall when it's cooler and she's able to hold her head up on her own.
