Recommendations for cloth diapers

For those who use cloth diapers- which type do you like best?  I am looking to buy some all in one's and wanted some recommendations.

Re: Recommendations for cloth diapers

  • We don't use AIO but I love my BG 3.0- they're all we use.

  • I also don't use AIO (we don't have a washer or dryer so we use prefolds through a diaper service) but would love to see what people recommend for when we move.

If you don't get any answers on here you can try?The Eco-Friendly Family?board, they all CD over there. ?

  • When I was PG, I asked this question and never got a straight answer and now that I have LO I understand why.  I use BG 3.0 pockets and really like them but am still trying others.  The thing is that just like disposables it all depends on the baby.  We are doing it for the cost element, so we got one size diapers.  It took a little while for LO to get big enough to fit into them, so we used disposables, but true CD parents use prefolds and covers for their newborns.

  • I use Bum Genius 3.0s.  I have 17 of them and typically need to do diaper laundry every other day.  I love them.

  • We have BumG 3.0's and FuzziB's OneSize. However, they are still way too big for my LO who is almost 6 weeks old so we also use disposables for now. They do make smaller sizes of the BumG's so you could use those for the first few months if you want.

  • I use Rump-a-rooz.. and love them!!!

  • We prefer pockets over AIO's, they allow you to adjust absorbency as the kid grows, and they dry much faster.  Like the others said, try a couple of different kids, different ones work better for different people.  One general bit of advice, velcro closures are more convenient when the baby is little, but as you hit toddler for some kids snaps are a lot better.  The velcro gets a little frayed with time (you can replace it on BG 3.0), and some kids can open the velcro.

  • gDiapers, LOVE THEM!!! great fit, no bulk like the one size diapers, and I love that only the insert gets dirty at 90% of changes. When the liner gets dirty, it's easy to wash and dries quickly, and the outer pant doesn't get dirty. Have had no "blowouts"! I just wash the outer pants in our regular wash when they get smelly from sweat, every few days. Liners get washed if they're dirty, with regular clothes in a lingerie bag, and I hang them to dry (about half an hour).

I use cloth inserts, and wash every other day and hang to dry to use the sun to bleach and stop the smell, takes a few hours.

g's also have biodegradable inserts, which you can compost, flush, or toss, and they work great!

don't have diaper rash problems using cloth, but you can use the biodegradeable insert with any rash creams, and it makes it easy for trips!
