Water Intake

My question may sound dumb but DH and I are in disagreement.  I say that drinking water with those Crystal Light packets counts as part of your daily water intake, DH disagrees.  Am I right in assuming that?  I'm just one of those people that need to have some kind of flavor in my water...

Re: Water Intake

  • Well, the chemicals and artifical sweetners in those kind of freak me out, but yes, I would think that counts as your water intake. It's mostly all water, right?

I think you win this one.

    This.

I'd be careful with artificial sweeteners. I squeeze lemon into my water when I want flavor.

Oh I like this!!!  That sounds very refreshing!

Thanks everyone for your responses.  I do dilute the crystal light packet, I use half of one with a 20 0z. bottle of water.  I just like to have a little flavor...the lemon suggestion is also a good one too!  :-)

  • I also put a few sprigs of fresh mint in sometimes with lemon. Or even some sliced strawberries, raspberries, etc.

  • I used to work for Weight Watchers and yes---anything that is caffeine free is considered a "water"---so water, decaf iced tea, lemonade, etc.  BUT I don't like crystal light---don't like the artificial sweeteners, especially while growing a baby.

  • Hmmm, you all got me thinking about the artificial sweetners now.  I think I am going to give up my Crystal Lights & start doing what was suggested already that sounds great.

Thanks again for all of your helpful answers....

  • I called my nurse and she said artificial sweeteners are okay. I was concerned because I use Crystal Light as well.
  • I would told during my last pregnancy that any drink that is caffeine free can count toward your fluid intake.  My OB did rec'd trying to get a least half of your fluid intake from actual water but I was having a hard time getting water down so she said de-caff iced tea (which I craved) was fine.

  • I hate drinking water and find that I can drink lots of it daily now with my new water bottle that has a straw in it. It's one of those flexible straws that pop out of the lid when you rotate it open. Makes it so much easier to get your water intake in.
