  I think you're supposed to unsnap the insert. At least that's what I do!

  Ive never taken apart my B4's and we use them daily. They sometimes come apart in the wash, and they sometimes dont.

  I always take things apart so they don't rip off in the wash.

  I don't take mine apart, but I don't unstuff my pockets before washing either...

  I unsnap the inserts from the diaper but don't take all of the inserts out. B4.

  I don't unsnap anything with snaps unless its to go to a different size or to clean out any lint from snaps.  It can wear your snaps out quicker.

  I unsnap after the wash and before the dryer (inserts go in the dryer, shells get line dried.)

  This is what I do w/ my 2 mutts and my GMs.  I am not worried about the snaps wearing out- more so the fabric wearing out from the extra wear and tear/weight during the wash cycle.
