Sleeping Fluke

Monday night was a sleeping fluke.

She woke up 6 times Tuesday night and last night.

Ugh.

How do I teach her to self soothe again?  She was self soothing by sucking on her hand, but it seems as though she has forgotten that now.  If I put her down drowsy but awake she just cries in her crib.

I created a monster. Stick out tongue

On another note, she is thisclose to rolling back to tummy.

Re: Sleeping Fluke

  • I'm sorry Ahsley, I know how you feel, I am living the same nightmare and can't help but blame myself for it. Hopefully she will get better soon.

  • I'm there with you, but C is still young. I am trying to figure out how to start helping him self-soothe, and go down while still awake. As of now I am walking the halls of our house for atleast 20 minutes to get him to sleep and then its not even guaranteed he will stay asleep once I put him down.

    OMW!  That really stinks!!

How does she wake up?  As in, crying, screaming, babbling, etc?

  • In between a fuss and a cry.  I don't go in until she's crying though.  I have hope that she will fuss back to sleep.  She hasn't though.
  • Sorry, as letting her fuss back to sleep was going to be my only advice.

Last night S was just in there babbling at midnight & I ignored her long enough for her to fall back asleep.  Then she was awake at 5am but not actually crying, just in there conducting the orchestra w/ her one arm & next thing I knew, it was 7:15 & I was in there waking her up!

GL, I sure hope her sleeping habits get better for you!
