numbness in leg possibly due to baby on nerve?

my left leg keeps hurting from the hip into my leg then from my knee and down goes numb. Like a hot tingly numbness. Could this be from the uterus on a nerve?

  • Sounds like sciatic pain, which is very common in pregnancy. Here's some info I found from the Google Machine:

  • I have that too! I asked my doctor and she told me it was my sciatic nerve. It's the way the baby is positioned. She said if it gets worse, I need to see a chiropractor. Sometimes I have trouble walking because of it but only after I've been laying down for awhile.

  • I had this about a week ago and actually had to take a day off of work, the pain was so pain.  Just keep off your feet and if it gets too bad, go see your doctor, they can recommend stretches and refer you to a chiro.  Not to give you false hope, but i started feeling much better after a couple of days lazing on the couch watching bad tv :)

  • I have had the same issue since week 6.  OB said it is nothing I should be worried about.  I experience a lot of numbness in my left thigh (not really any pain).  It really helps to change sitting positions frequently and stand up and stretch - I also have to rotate sleeping positions throughout the night.  Really annoying...
